The challenge: How to use online influencers to raise awareness of the US Capital Region (Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC) with young, adventurous travellers – and older visitors more interested in food and culture?

The solution:We sent two of our bloggers on a once-in-a-lifetime road trip along the region’s Scenic Byways. Accompanied by their own camera crew, they got to create their own content with the help of a professional production company. Neither had been to the Capital Region before, but both were pretty excited to be there – judging by their reactions... So were their audiences, who tuned in in their thousands to see what happened...

We also created a competition where people could win a road trip of their own – and drove thousands of people to our client’s site.

The result:

  • Six films, six blog posts (not to mention all the Facebook and Twitter activity)
  • Over 300,000 brand interactions in three weeks – on Facebook alone
  • One video alone got over 100,000 views in 3 weeks;
  • We drove 3,000 thousand people to the client’s website.
